Transylvania County's 2018 population estimte grew to 34,215, adding 1,128 new residents since 2010. The community's growth resulted in a move from 70 to 69 in the North Carolina county population rankings. In total from 2010-2018, the community's local population grew by + 3.4%. In 2016, economist Tom Tveidt with Syneva Economics delivered a forecast for Transylvania County that closely mirrors the recently released Census figures. Based on the report immigration is likely the primary source for Transylvania County's population growth.
