Brevard, NC- On August 2, 2019 North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) leadership and stakeholders from manufacturing businesses who will be temporarily impacted by the Ecusta Road closure met to review the Traffic Control Detour Plan for Ecusta Road. Ecusta Road serves as the primary transportation route for employees, visitors and heavy truck traffic for manufacturing and commercial operations located in the Jennings Business Park, Old Hendersonville Highway and Ecusta Road. Manufacturers on this corridor represent hundreds of jobs and unique products which are distributed across the country.
The traffic control plan is designed to help safely move car and truck traffic safely through the community with as little negative impact as possible. This temporary (60 day) detour is the recommended NCDOT alternative for all heavy truck traffic, employeess and visitors who plan to frequent these businesses. Businesses on this corridor or who anticipate some diruptions to typical traffic flow are encouraged to share this plan with their company stakeholders especially third party logistics providers that are unfamilair with our local road system.
Manufacturers and other businesses with immediate concerns are encouraged to contact the NCDOT Mills River office at (828) 891-7911. For general questions industrial stakeholders are also free to contact the Transylvania Economic Alliance at (828) 393-4130.
