Small Business Center – Blue Ridge Community College

The Small Business Center at Blue Ridge Community College provides free, confidential business advice for new and existing businesses. The also offer many conferences and seminars related to starting and growing a small business.

Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC)

SBTDC is a resource of the North Carolina University system and provides management counseling and educational services to small and mid-sized businesses.

Brevard SCORE

SCORE’s mission is to help small businesses both in the startup and ongoing businesses stages. SCORE uses mentors who have deep experience in all aspects business. Brevard SCORE is made up of a network of mentors who are current and retired business owners who know Transylvania County’s economic opportunities.

Mountain Biz Works specializes in providing financing to help Western North Carolina small businesses launch and expand.

Small Business Association (SBA)

SBA works to ignite change and spark action so small businesses can confidently start, grow, expand, or recover.

Partner Community Capital

Partner Community Capital gives entrepreneurs the capital and strategic advice they need to grow. Their organization support businesses and non-profits located in underserved communities across Central Appalachia and the Southeast.

Main Street/Heart of Brevard Grants & Programs

The Heart of Brevard is a NC Main Street Program and utilizes specific, targeted grant programs for businesses within the downtown Municipal Services District (MSD) referred to as the “Heart of Brevard.” These programs include small business grants, redevelopment tax credits, building improvement and historic preservation credits, and more. Transylvania Tomorrow

The Transylvania Tomorrow Small Business Emergency Relief fund is an initiative created by the Transylvania Business Support Task Force to support Transylvania County small businesses during the COVID-19 epidemic. The program, which will be funded through the Community Focus Foundation 501(c)(3) will award grants up to $3,000. In three months over the summer of 2020, the Transylvania Tomorrow Small Business Emergency Relief Fund raised and distributed $166,500 to 93 businesses throughout Transylvania County.
