Sigma Plastics Group New Excelsior was recognized last week as Outstanding Employer for 2015 by Mountain Area Workforce Development Board. Sigma was nominated for this recognition by NCWorks Career Centers at Blue Ridge Community College.
Since its announcement in 2014 that it would invest $5.5 million in its Rosman Plant and add 80 new jobs, Sigma Plastics has worked closely with NCWorks Career Center and Corporate and Customized Training Department at Blue Ridge Community College to accomplish its expansion and hiring goals.
Human resource managers at Sigma Plastics posted open positions on NCWorks online, used Career Center locations for numerous interview sessions, as well as taking advantage many other services that have been made available. In addition, Blue Ridge Community College is currently working with Sigma Plastics through an NCWorks Customized Training Project. The project is in support of its expansion of jobs and capital investment to deploy new technology for the production floor.
Sigma Plastics Group New Excelsior is a Certified Minority-Owned Business and the largest privately held manufacturer of extruded polyethylene films and bags in North America.
