Brevard, NC-Offroad Research Group (ORG) announced plans to locate to Transylvania County, NC. ORG, a small business currently located in Pembroke, Virginia selected the community based on the area's unique blend of quality of life, outdoor amenities, and proximity to an existing network of manufacturers and suppliers. ORG specializes in custom vehicle builds, and the development of outdoor gear specifically tailored to mountain biking, kayaking, hunting, fly fishing and other recreational sports. Products have been featured in numerous media events including the television series The Search with Blaine Anthony.
Company owner Jason Bowman was first introduced to the region through outreach conducted by Outdoor Gear Builders of Western North Carolina, a collaboration between AdvantageWest and existing manufacturing businesses engaged in the development of outdoor-related gear which includes Brevard-based SylvanSport. Following a formal search for a new location, the company selected a 10,000 square foot facility located on Highway 280 near the entrance of the county. The company plans to be operational by July, 2015.

The introduction of new lines of outdoor gear has led to growing popularity in the company. The business’s relocation to Transylvania County, NC will create 3-4 new job opportunities for the community. Immediate needs include an automotive technician with ASE certification, a welding and metal fabrication specialist, an administration support person, and a part-time digital media representative with experience in videography and photography.
