Director of Marketing & Community Relationships
The Director of Marketing & Community Relationships is responsible for managing the Alliance’s external and internal marketing activities. The ideal candidate will have outstanding academic and customer service credentials, the ability to work directly with clients, and an excellent attitude and aptitude for learning and understanding new concepts and practices related to promoting quality job creation and investment in one of America’s top ranked communities. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position will provide leadership to the organization as it works to build relationships with key stakeholders, promote the organization’s core marketing functions and help organize events focused on highlighting economic development topics in Transylvania County.
Essential Functions
Respond to Request for Information (RFI) for relocation and expansion projects
General organization and event planning and management
Assist with business prospect visits to Transylvania County, NC
Coordinate content to support website, social media, press releases and an e-newsletter covering business activity in Transylvania County
Manage the organizations sites and buildings database
Lead the development of Alliance promotional materials and an annual report
General organization and event planning and management
Participate in monthly board and committee meetings; prepare minutes; maintain meeting attendance records
Perform other duties as apparent or assigned
Knowledge and/or Experience:
A Bachelor or Master degree in marketing, business, public administration, economic development, international relations, related field or an equivalent amount of relevant work experience in associated work is preferred. Core competencies should include strong oral and written skills, good interpersonal skills, critical thinking and problem solving, demonstrated success of working with groups and self-directed work. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute initiatives in a time sensitive environment. Experience with Microsoft, Adobe, and other relevant technologies.
Salary:
Depends on qualifications and experience. $45,000-65,000.
