Manufacturers Roundtable

On October 24th the Transylvania Economic Alliance hosted the manufacturers roundtable which featured guest speakers, Angela Owen and Gordon Murrey with Trueventures . In addition to networking and peer-to-peer information sharing guest speakers discussed employee retention strategies and the importance of a consistent focus on understanding and improving company culture, especially when operating in tight labor markets (presentation). The greater Asheville-Brevard Micropolitan Statistical Area and the Transylvania County community continue to experience record low unemployment rates. Latest numbers indicate that while the region has added approximately 8,000 jobs in the past year, 10,548 more people are working compared to one year ago the area continues to have the lowest unemployment rate in North Carolina . For 56 consectuive months the region has maintained the lowest unemployment rate in the state.
