Alliance Adopts Strategic Plan

The Transylvania Economic Alliance has adopted a strategic plan. The plan represents a significant milestone as it provides a roadmap outlining what can and should be done to support responsible economic growth within the community. The identified action steps focus on existing business retention and expansion opportunities, marketing to attract and recruit new businesses within identified target markets, and enhancing our community’s assets through a proactive sites and buildings initiative.

To help develop the plan Crystal Morphis with Creative Economic Development Consulting embarked on a series of stakeholder and community input sessions designed to build consensus around identified best practices. This process included four major components: a community survey, a ten-year trend analysis of economic and demographic data, a professional target industry analysis and lastly benchmarking Transylvania County against peer communities. Additionally, board members created a mission and vision statement to serve as a guiding principle throughout the process. Click here to access the executive summary.
